This is a true story. One of my business associates generated over 8 million dollars in a network marketing business because someone did not take 'no' for an answer from him. For 12 months this person shared the business products and income potential with him but his response was always no. On the 13th month he listened. Not only did he listen but he took advantage of the income opportunity. He turned around and thanked this person who never took no as an answer from him.

Oranges Under My Nose

Once I was invited to a church picnic. On arrival I saw an orange tree laden with oranges. I looked up at the tree and wished that someone taller than I would come by, and reach a few for me. No one came by, so I gave up hope. I lowered my head to its normal position. As soon as I did that, low and behold right in front of my nose, were three, yellow, juicy oranges. My eyes sparkled. My mouth watered. I reached out and picked one of them with out strain or effort. I peeled it and enjoyed the sweet juice as it squirted out. I repeated this action and enjoyed the fruit of my choice. Life Lessons Learned Quite often the things we need to meet our needs are right at our nose so to speak. We need to be cognizant of this. Right now may I implore you to take out a piece of paper and write down all the good things you see in your job, your spouse, or your business. You might be surprised to learn how blessed you are. The things of blessings might be near you, but over looked because of your taking what you are familiar with for granted.

Hold you head high up to the sky. You can make it. What you believe is very powerful. What do you believe about your present situation? Is it negative or positive? Changing what you believe can change your live.

Over the years I have made the foolish mistake of joining many passive income programs. I thought these were so cool because I could make money without having to recruit anyone. I invested thousands of dollars in these programs. I will say here quickly I did make money quickly but in the end I lost more than what I had made in most of them because soon they all went out of business by the government or by them running off with people's hard earned dollars.

  I am here to warn you all. Stay away from any program or business that promises you income without you having to do anything but invest your money.

Obstacles in Your Way?

So I have been looking forward to this Winter Gala ball,I dressed up pretty as a  barbie doll when down came the pouring rain. Not only that, the person with whom I was attending the ball  did not turn up at the appointed time or called to say what happened. At that moment I began to feel anxious. I had two choices. Forget the ball and stay home in my warm and safe condo or get out in the rain and drive my self to the ball. I chose the latter. Little did I know what laid ahead. By the way the person did call and apologized . He too was caught up in heavy traffic because of the heavy rain.

On my way to the ball the rain was still pouring, lightening was flashing, sirens were flying past, left right and center. By this time I was wondering whether or not I should return home. I kept driving for a long time but just could not find the place where I was going. To make  a long story short. I was lost! Even though I was lost I was determined to go to the ball. You see I had paid a price for the ball and I was not going to let my money go wasted. I must confess here that I got lost three times before I finally found the place. Again, I was tempted to go home and not attend the ball.
After composing myself and thinking of the wonderful time I would be having at the ball, instead of the rain or my being lost, I finally found the place. I took several deep breaths, offered a word of prayer for guidance, smiled and started singing.

Because of my positive attitude and perseverance I attended the ball even though I was an hour late. I enjoyed a delicious meal, met several new friends and listened to good music.My friend, even though he was very late came also and joined the fun. At the end of the night the sky was clear and I was happy.

What are your dreams and goals? What obstacles are in your way? What is preventing you from reaching them? Winners don't quit. Quitters don't win! When you have clear and defined goals obstacles will come your way. You will then have two choices, quit or persevere. May I encourage you to chose the latter and enjoy success.

 What is your Why? Your why will propel you to stick with it, comes what may.

In 1984 I was invited to attend a meeting at my daughter's teacher's home. I thought this meeting was a meeting for parents. When I arrived at her home I saw several persons who were not parents.
I began to wonder what this meeting was all about but my curiosity was short lived when she brought out some pots which she described were waterless.I was intrigued by what she said. This was  new to me.

She carefully and passionately described the benefits of using  other products and why we should use them instead of the ones we were using at home. I listened carefully with an open mind. She also shared how we could get theses products free by becoming a distributor and sharing them with others.
What she shared with me in the next few minutes had me standing up. For the first time I was introduced to the concept of residual income. I could not wait for her to conclude her presentation. I signed up to become an Amway distributor . I liked the concept of getting paid even when I do not work. I liked the concept of helping others to succeed. I liked the concept of unlimited income.

 I purchased the set of pots which I still have and use to this day over 29 years ago.
It was there and then in a tiny island called the Cayman Islands that my love for net work marketing began. When I moved to live in the United States of America I gained employment in the teaching profession. When I received my first check on pay day I received a rude awakening. I was thankful for the job and the pay but I was very disappointed with the amount I received.


Having tasted the joy of residual income from my Amway business in the Cayman Islands even though I am no longer a distributor with that company, I craved once more for this, so I went online and searched for a business opportunity that I could work from home while teaching. I did find one by chance and started building it. From the very beginning I learned this, If it's going to be, It's up to me! I also learned that quitting was  not an option if I planned to succeed.

I know,the fear of  the unknown or the fear of rejection. I have already addressed the fear of rejection so let me now address the fear of the unknown. The door of opportunity can be very intimidating. Before that door is opened to you and you see what's inside the room  you become very anxious , fearful and doubtful. It is now easier for you so stay in your Status Quo than to make  a paradigm  shift. Many great companies went out of business because of the fear of the unknown. Children are fearful of what is behind closed doors even if they are on familiar grounds.
In the bible Jesus told us about the parable of three individuals who had the opportunity to knock on the door of investment. Two did and was successful. One was afraid of the unknown and buried his money in the ground.The most successful people are risk takers.
 Another reason that might be preventing you from knocking is the obvious fact that you are not hungry enough for what you want.

10 Ways to overcome the fear of unknown
1.Have clear and well defined goals.
2 Pursue your dreams.
3.Have faith in God.
4.Commit your ways to the Lord and he will direct your path.
5. Cast out fear. God has not given you  a spirit of fear, but of love and a sound mind.
6. Seek godly counsel.
7.Be bold. There is magic in being bold.
8.Embrace the unknown. Face your giant with faith.
9. Use humor to fight fear. Relax it's okay. So What?
10. Know the source of your fear.

The fear of rejection is the number one reason why many do not ask. Another reason is the spirit of pride.  Are you afraid of hearing "no' when you ask?  If this is true then you must get over your fear.
You must come to the place where hearing 'no' is not an indication of being rejected but an indication of progress that will lead you to the right answer . When you hear,"no" you  must not stop asking,  instead you  must move on to the next. Keep asking until you receive. Be persistent.

 Pride might be another reason why you resist asking.You don't  want others to see you less than whom you  perceive yourself to be. It  takes humility to ask. "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall." Proverbs 16:18


If not eliminated,  these hindrances  will prevent you from getting what you want or desire. Take action!

10 Ways to Overcome Rejection

1. Stop being a people pleaser.
2. Have confidence in yourself. You were wonderfully made by God. You are unique.
3. Be cognizant of the fact that people have the right to say "no'.
4.Forgive those who have hurt or rejected you in the past. Bless and release them.
5.Commit your ways to God and he will direct your path. Pray before asking.
6.Believe that you will receive when you ask.
7.Be as bold as a lion. Banish fear with faith. Faith in God can move mountains.
8. Consider the source of your rejection.
9. Don't be concerned about what others might think of you.
10. Love yourself. How can you love your neighbor if you don't love yourself?
